Mooooooo Over Mooooo Milk
Wouldn’t you like to avoid drinking antibiotics and unwanted hormones? Of course you would! That is why I am sharing with you my recipe for my sweet and nutritious almond milk. Not only is this recipe super easy to make, but it is the ideal milk to boost your intake of essential vitamins and minerals. Take a break from dairy milk and enjoy a healthy alternative even kids love.
I love almond milk as an alternative to commercial dairy milk. Not only does it taste great, but it is so healthy for you, especially if you make it yourself.
Ingredients
1 cup almonds soaked
1/4 cup pitted dates chopped & soaked
1 tsp natural honey
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cheese cloth
How to Prepare
In two separate bowls soak almonds in two cups of water and dates in 1-1/2 cups of water overnight. Rinse almonds in morning. Place all ingredients, including the water the dates soaked in, into a food processor or blender. Keep adding more water until the milk becomes the desired consistency. Once combined, place the milk into a cheese cloth and squeeze out the milk over a large bowl. Really get into it and squeeze all the milk out you can.
This is a great one for the kids to prepare!
Once you have removed as much milk as possible, place it into a glass container and store in the refrigerator. Almond milk will last for 3-4 days in the fridge. The leftover pulp should be stored in the freezer and used to make any number of delicious baked goods or topped over another yummy recipe creation.
